I want to bring my friend’s nanny’s friend as a nanny from Philippines for my family

This is a regular topic that we commonly hear in our office, because we have some clients that have friends who have hired a nanny. These nannies sometimes suggest to our clients that they know some nannies who are ready to come to Canada.

Then our clients start to talk with those girls through video call, and they match. But they don’t know the process to help her immigrate to Canada. That’s where we help those families. Firstly, we have to verify if the family is eligible to bring a nanny from abroad. The foreign temporary work permit has some requirement such as a minimum annual household income, private space to bring the nanny and the need to hire her. Also, we need to know how many kids you have and their ages.

After all this, if you’re eligible for the program, then we assess the candidate. We verify if their qualifications are enough to come to Canada, because they require at least 13 years of education, fluency in the English language, and a provable experience as a nanny or as a nurse.

Once all the requirements are met, we start the immigration process with Service Canada and the Government of Quebec. This process can take at least 7 months, so you have to be prepared.
